MULTAN: Local police found a body of a woman, who was killed by her husband over a property dispute on Friday night.
The victim, Samia Mai, was a resident of Mauza Bait Qaim Wala and was married to Abdul Ghafoor a year ago. Ghafoor gifted 20 marlas land to his wife Samia at the time of their marriage. Samia was the legal owner of land as it was transferred on her name.
According to police officials, the couple had frequent fights over this land as Ghafoor wanted it back. Samia was shot in her house by Ghafoor, along with his brother Jafar Hussain and two other unidentified men. However, Ghafoor, in front of the chairman of union council, Baitwala, claimed that his wife had committed suicide.
The body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem, which revealed that Samia did not commit suicide but was murdered. No arrests were made so far but an investigation was underway. FIR was also registered on the deceased’s father complaint.
