ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has started efforts to replace Leader of Opposition Khursheed Shah with Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The PTI is seeking support of various political parties to make Qureshi the opposition leader before the caretaker government steps in before the general elections. The caretaker government is formed with the consensus of the ruling party and the opposition leader. Sources said that the PTI was in contact with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). An MQM-P delegation had called on Qureshi in Islamabad on Wednesday before his departure for London. Both sides discussed the issue of changing of opposition leader in the National Assembly.
