RAWALPINDI: A man killed his wife and injured his two children in the Tench Bhatta area on Thursday, police said.
Police found 55-year-old woman dead at Norozabad locality of Tench Bhatta, while her injured children, Zafran Zulfiqar and Sadia Zulfiqar were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical situation.
Zafran said to police that he along with his two sisters Sadia and Madiha, and mother Pukhraj were sitting in a room when his father Zulfiqar Khan started shouting in the courtyard of the house.
He stated that all of a sudden, his father targeted his brother-in-law, Afzal, who was sitting in the courtyard. However, Afzal remained unhurt.
The complainant said when his mother rushed out she was pushed and shot dead by his father. The accused also shot him in the leg and escaped from the crime scene, he added.
The deceased’s brother had been staying in their house for about six years which his husband disliked.
Earlier, a motorcyclist was also shot and injured by two robbers in Sadiqabad on Thursday.
Two armed men intercepted Waqas Haider when he was on his way to his home. The robbers shot and injured him and took away the motorcycle along with his wallet and mobile phone.
The injured was later shifted to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
