ISLAMABAD: Planning Development & Reform Ministry’s Food Security and Climate Change Member Dr Mubarak Ali has stated that Pakistan World Food Program (WFP) Regional and HQ offices have been collaborating for many great initiatives for scaling up nutrition in the country.
He said this in his welcome address to participants of consultative meeting on “Fill in the Nutrient Gap and Analysis,” organized by United Nation WFP in collaboration with other ministries and partners.
WFP Country Director Finbarr Curan, in his address stressed the need for concerted efforts from all the partners under the leadership of Planning Commission for scaling up nutrition in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, WHO HQ Francesco Branca stated that too much capital is lost due to malnutrition. He congratulated the team that put forward the comprehensive analysis and recommendations. He stressed the need to act on malnutrition. He further added that Pakistan is at a stage where it can take action to prevent malnutrition.
