ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Forces (ANF) seized one kilogramme of heroin from an Abu Dhabi bound passenger’s bag and arrested him on Thursday night at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
Irfan Masih was set to depart on an Airblue flight for Abu Dhabi when during a usual check at the immigration counter the drugs were recovered from his handbag, ANF sources said.
The arrested denied any knowledge about the presence of any banned substance in his baggage.
Masih was taken to ANF headquarters and a First Information Report (FIR) was also registered against his name under section 9-C of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act.
He will be presented before a local magistrate Saturday to seek his physical remand to hold an inquiry into where he was travelling to with the drugs and other information, stated officials.
