ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be awarding Rs215 million to the Pakistan cricket team in a special ceremony on July 5, according to a notification issued Thursday, days after they outclassed arch-rivals India to lift the Champions Trophy 2017.
All 15 players in the winning squad and 13 officials of team management will be given Rs10 million and Rs5 million each.
PM Sharif will distribute cheques among players and officials at a special ceremony to be held at PM House on July 5.
Pakistan thrashed India in the Champions Trophy final played at The Oval, London, defeating India by 180 runs on Sunday. The historic win sent the entire nation into frenzy.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, felicitating the Pakistan side for their brilliant performance, also announced Umrah package for their entire squad.
Ali Riaz Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Bahria Town, also announced 1-kanal plot for Fakhar Zaman in Bahria Sports City, and Rs1 million each for all players.
