HYDERABAD: Operation Radd-ul-Fassaad, launched by the Pakistan army to eradicate terrorism and corruption from the country, may not succeed in the presence of corrupt and dishonest rulers.
According to the Sindh United Party Chief, Jalal Mahmood Shah, the danger in Pakistan is not from nationalists but from terrorists, religious extremism, and corrupt rulers because nationalists are patriots and followers of the non-violent philosophy of G.M. Syed.
He was addressing a mammoth public meeting under the banner of the Sindh March at Hyder Chowk in Hyderabad last night. He stated, “we are not agents of anyone nor do we want to become a proxy for anyone.
Rulers have taken up politics as a profitable business but we consider it a service”. He accused politicians of following the ‘Divide and Rule’ policy of the British by pitching the Sindhi and Urdu speaking people of Sindh against one another and asserts that his party wish to take all on board. Jalal Shah, grandson of G.M. Syed further said “we are not sitting in assemblies, yet we are the real opposition while PPP and PML are two sides of the same coin”.
He further added, thieves and robbers cannot become friends of this country. He also alleged that rulers were buying people’s support in Sindh to win the upcoming elections, but an honest politician would never engage in such acts.
Speaking on the occasion. Zain Shah said that the establishment was siding with the enemies of the people; Waderas and Sardars. He was angered that no action was being taken to recover the billions of dollars Asif Zardari kept in his Swiss banks; money he allegedly minted by robbing the national wealth of Pakistan.
He believed that until the money looted from the country has been forfeited, terrorism cannot be eradicated. He also demanded action against Jagirdars and Sardars whom he accused of working as facilitators of terrorists. Dr. Dodo Maheri, Roshan Buriro, Samrin Bhutto and others also spoke on the occasion.
