Karachi: A 15-member batch of Special Security Unit Sindh Police completed 8 weeks Counter Terrorism Course at Naval Special Operations Training Centre (NSOTC) Nathiagali.
Maqsood Ahmed, Commandant Special Security Unit, speaking at Wing Award Ceremony at NSOTC commended the support and cooperation of Special Service Group Navy for providing professional training to SSU commandos aimed at enhancing capabilities and professionalism of SSU personnel.
The Commandos of SSU have been trained by Naval Commandos and Navy Seals of Special Service Group Navy at Nathiagali.
The Commandant said that it is a matter of pride for Special Security Unit Sindh Police that professional training is being provided by Special Service Group (Navy) to effectively crackdown and foil the nefarious designs of anti-state elements/terrorists.
Maqsood Ahmed further said that all possible efforts are being made to provide essential professional training to SSU personnel so that they could effectively take action against the terrorists trying to disturb the peace and tranquility in the country.
The Commandant said that country’s first Special Weapon and Tactics (S.W.A.T) team has been setup in the Unit and the training provided at the NSOTC will further help in enhancing the professional capacity of personnel.
Later, the insignias of SSU and Training Centre were also exchanged on the conclusion of the Wing Award Ceremony.
