ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday lodged a protest with India over the killing of an elderly woman in cross-border firing. SA & SAARC Director General Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Indian occupation forces on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kotli area, which resulted in the killing of a 60-year-old woman.
The woman, a resident of Thandi Kassi village, had died when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Kotli on March 17.
“The deliberate targeting of civilians is contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws,” the Foreign Office said in a brief press release.
