LAHORE: Allo Din Sheikh, provincial minister for Industries, along with secretary Industries and Chinese delegation visited Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Secretariat and met with TEVTA Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh.
The TEVTA chairman briefed the delegation about the ongoing projects and courses. The delegation was also apprised that 4,000 students would be inducted in Chinese language classes this year. Currently, 9,000 students are learning Chinese language and the strength would be increased to 16,000.
TEVTA Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh told the delegation that TEVTA is concentrating on information technology (IT), trade, hospitality, construction and textile courses.
He said that skilled development courses are the top priority of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif adding that TEVTA is acting on his directions in true letter and spirit.
During the meeting, Chinese delegation led by Chen Weiming, Vice President TianJin Peoples Association for Friendship with Countries offered TEVTA Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh that they will accommodate 4,000 students of TEVTA with different courses in China. The TEVTA chairman thanked him and said that it shows the trust on TEVTA.
TEVTA Manager PR Sahabzada Khusro, while briefing the media, said that TEVTA is following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and contribution of Chinese government towards uplift of Pakistani students especially through TEVTA is deeply appreciated.
The representatives of Chinese Consulate were also present in the meeting. Later on, the delegation along with TEVTA chairman visited Chinese language classes and met students. The delegation communicated with the students in Chinese and highly appreciated their fluency in the language within such a short span of time.
