KARACHI In an alleged encounter with the police, a gang war suspect was killed late Friday. A target killer was also among seven suspects arrested by law enforcers.
The encounter which took place in Lyari’s Kalakot area killed a suspect, Nabi alias Billa, said SSP City Adeel Chandio.
The suspect was said to be affiliated with Uzair Baloch group. Police also recovered a hand grenade and arms that had belonged to the suspect, he said.
Meanwhile, in a raid carried out by the police three officials of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) from Shershah area, who were said to be involved in issuing computerised national identity cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals were arrested.
Shahid, Sohail and Anwar Ali, the suspects, were involved in making 35 CNICs, three Pakistani passports and Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) cards which the police recovered.
A case has been filed against them under relevant fraud and forgery.
In another raid conducted by the police in Yousuf Plaza, officials arrested a suspected target killer, Arif alias and seized a repeater, a sub-machine gun, a pistol and an Awan bomb from him.
In another raid in Lines Area, Brigade police rounded up five suspected robbers, and seized arms and looted mobile phones from them. One more suspect was arrested from Tipu Sultan Road.
