CHICHAWATNI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif addressed a rally here on Thursday and criticised the opponents, mocking the governance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
Reportedly, the PM mocked KP government’s performance and said “go to KP to witness what happened about the ‘new Pakistan’. “New factories are being set up in Punjab while in their province, schools and hospitals are in dismal condition,” said the prime minister. “What sort of ‘naya Pakistan’ are they building?” he asked.
He alleged the PTI leaders don’t know ‘culture of Pakistan’, adding that it is the culture to respect elders and women.
“They utter anything without even thinking and therefore have started losing people’s support”, he alleged.
He said that his party is committed to serving people and that they don’t use abusive language.
The Prime Minister promised building of two cattle markets in the city. He said Chichawatni would also be connected to the motorway.
He said various energy projects are underway to curb the ongoing crisis, adding that the government has laid foundations of projects in all four provinces.
Talking about the law and order situation, he said the backbone of terrorists has been broken and that security situation has improved.
Nawaz Sharif said the prime focus of his government has been the welfare of the people. He said the prices of oil and electricity have been reduced, adding that the electricity price has been reduced from Rs 18 to 5.25 per unit.
“Similarly, the price of urea has been brought down from Rs 4000 to Rs 2500 per bag to facilitate the farming community”, he added.
The Prime Minister announced the establishment of a veterinary university in Chichawatni.
Announcing development grants for the city, the PM said Rs 250 million would be given as a grant while another 250 million would be given for development of roads.
