LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Zardari has advised the PPP Lahore chapter to start door-to- door campaign. According to sources, Zardari on Sunday telephoned newly appointed Lahore District leadership and urged them to strengthen the party at grassroots, adding that it is important to get success and number of seats in the province in the next general elections. Zardari told Lahore District PPP President Azizur Rehman Chan to start preparations for the next general elections. Zardari also asked the PPP leadership to mobilise diehard workers “for the betterment of the country and democracy”. Sources said that Chan assured Zardari that he would try to serve the party to the best of his ability. Later, Chan visited PPP Vice President Manzoor Wattoo at his residence along with other party leaders and discussed the party’s affairs. Sources said following Zardari’s ‘advise’, the PPP leadership has planned to contact dissident workers and leaders.
