UMERKOT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Umerkot leaders alleged a local PPP leader Shakeel Bajwa, Chairman Town Committee Kunri has attacked sub-jail Umerkot late night under police protocol, where detained PTI local leader Nawab Zaid Talpur had been humiliated and threatened to face consequences if he did not stop propaganda against his leaders. PTI accused that Talpur is being shifted to Mirpurkhas jail without any reason.
It is recalled that on June 2, Zaid Talpur has been facing charges of attacking police station and humiliating Station House Officer. Later on the complaint of ASI Muhammad Boota an FIR was registered against six accused including Talpur, his son and others. Supreme Court of Pakistan had also taken notice of the incident.
On July 22 he was arrested by Umerkot Police, when district and session judge did not confirm his interim bail which he had granted from Sindh High Court.
On the other hand, Sajjad Ahmed Mukhtiarkar Umerkot who is superintendent sub-jail Umerkot has submitted an application to district and session court Umerkot. He has stated Zaid Talpur has been forcing the jail staff to provide him unlawful facilities, he also ransacked in sub-jail Umerkot, therefore District and Session Court ordered to shift Nawab Zaid Talpur to district prison Mirpurkhas.
Talking to the Daily Times Aijaz Usman Bajwa SSP Umerkot said that no incident of attack on sub-jail or Nawab Zaid Talpur occurred, except exchange of harsh words between Shakeel Bajwa and Nawab Zaid Talpur. Subsequently the police guards who were deployed at sub-jail have been suspended by him.
