LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has set an example of public service during the last four years.
Speaking to MNAs Sardar Awais Laghari and Najaf Abbas Sial here on Sunday, the chief minister said, “Nawaz Sharif is the leader of Pakistan who lives in the hearts of the people and his national services are exceptional and we are proud of them.”
He said that Nawaz Sharif had put the country on the road to progress in the last four years. “Pakistan was catapulted to prosperity and progress from economic bankruptcy by Nawaz Sharif.”
He said that Nawaz Sharif was the name of constructive thinking and his heart was imbued with love for the people of Pakistan.
All development works done under his leadership will benefit the general public, he maintained.
In a veiled reference to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shahbaz said that those taking politics as a sport and trying to deceive public with their tactics would never succeed. “Their only agenda is to create chaos in the country.”
He said that Nawaz Sharif’s tenure was a golden era of Pakistan in which loads of uplift projects were completed for the welfare of the masses.
“The world’s cheapest, transparent and fast-moving power projects were set up during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif and corruption of not a single penny was unearthed in the projects. “Rather billions of rupees were saved by ensuring transparency in the development projects.”
The PML-N, said that chief minister, believes in composite development as billions of rupees have been allocated for uplift projects in southern Punjab.
“We have allocated more resources in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for prosperity of the people in southern Punjab. We will continue to provide all-out resources for development of the people in southern Punjab,” he added.
He said that selfless service to the people was the hallmark of the PML-N politics and despite all odds several development projects had been completed on a fast-track basis.
“Pakistan has made unprecedented development in the tenure of Nawaz Sharif and our opponents are perturbed over it,” he said, adding that those hurdles in the way of development of Pakistan were not sincere to the country rather they were wasting the time of the nation.
Shahbaz said that Pakistan was passing through a crucial situation and the political elements trying to create chaos in country should mend their ways.
He said that no one would be allowed wreak havoc with the development of the country.
“Our life and death is with the people of Pakistan. We will not let any effort to stop Pakistan from going ahead succeed.
