LAHORE: Pakistan will not tolerate US aggression. The people and government of Pakistan reject the accusations levelled by the US president.
This was stated by clerics associated with Wafaqul Masajid Pakistan while addressing Friday congregations across the country. The Pakistan Ulema Council had earlier appealed to the clerics to raise the issue of US threats to Pakistan during Friday sermons.
The clerics announced to carryout countrywide protests against US and Afghan policies after Eidul Azha. They also pointed out that it was US that needed Pakistan the most. They also urged on leadership of Muslim Ummah to take note of the oppression against Muslims of Myanmar.
While speaking at Jamia Masjid Mustafa, Lahore, PUC Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi stated that US had been patronising extremists and terrorists forces to defame and destabilise the Muslim world. “The US administration created Daesh (ISIS) to wreak havoc in Arab countries. Now the US leadership is aiming at targeting Pakistan,” he said. “Pakistan should not be considered weak. People and security forces of Pakistan know how to defend Pakistan in the face of foreign aggression,” Ashrafi said.
He said that protests would be held after Eidul Azha on account of Pakistan Ulema Council and its allied political and religious organisations for ‘Defence and Stability of Pakistan’.
“The government of Pakistan should negotiate with the US administration on equal footings,” Ashrafi said, while adding that Pakistan should not engage in any talks with US administration until the US withdrew its Afghan policy.
“US President Donald Trump insulted the memory of Pakistanis who have laid down their lives in war against terrorism. Despite our 80,000 sacrifices, the US leadership is hurling allegations against Pakistan,” Ashrafi said.
He also added that Indian intervention in the affairs of Afghanistan was tantamount to creating instability in South Asia. “This would not be tolerated by Pakistan. Indian and Afghan secret forces are hatching conspiracies with US help to create instability and chaos in Pakistan,” he said.
The clerics while expressing concern on prevailing brutalities against Muslims of Myanmar urged on the leadership of the Muslim world to take practical steps for the oppressed.
Among the clerics were: Maulana Ayub Safdar addressed in Gujranwala, Maulana Abdul Haq Mujahid in Multan, Maulana Asad Ullah Farooq in Lahore, Maulana Asad Zikriya in Karachi, Maulana Idrees Qasmi in Faisalabad, Maulana Nauman Hashir in Rawalpindi, Maulana Aslam Qadri in Lahore, Maulana Hassan Ahmed Husseni in Daska, Maulana Faheem ul Hassan in Sheikhupura, Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Makki in Muzafargarh, Maulana Abu Bakar Hamza in Chakwal, Maulana Tayyab Gormani in Faisalabad, Mufti Umar Farooq in Khanewal etc.
