RAWALPINDI: Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing by Indian troops along the Line of Control in Baroh area of Bhimber sector on Wednesday night, injuring one woman, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
A statement issued by ISPR, the attack on Wednesday night targeted the civilian population of the area. The statement further added that the Pakistan army responded effectively.
A few weeks back, a man had died as a result of unprovoked firing by Indian security forces along LoC, ISPR had said.
The 25-year-old labourer, Ashfaq, was injured as a result of Indian firing in Khuiratta sector. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
India has carried out repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement at the LoC several times in the last few months. Tensions between the South Asian neighbours had risen following the Uri attack in Indian occupied Kashmir.
