Fighting between the Police and workers of Jamat-i-Islami on the main roads changed it into battle fields, resulting in worst traffic jams which have been faced by citizens on Friday. The police detained around 25 workers of JI including Amir e Jamat I Islami Karachi after shelling and baton charging.
According to the details The worker s of JI were preparing a protest against K-electric for the high price of electricity and for this demonstration they had built a camp on the nursery stop of Shahra e Faisal where Amir e Jamat I Islami’s Hafiz Naeem ul Haq was also scheduled to make a speech but before his arrival, on the directions of IG Sindh SSP East Faisal Abdullah a heavy contingency plan and police personal destroyed the camp and started arresting the workers of JI to disburse them. This resulted in a confrontation between the workers of JI and the police. In the resistance the road turned into battle field resulting the halt of traffic fluency from Sadar to Airport area and from Airport to Sadar Downtown had been completely stopped and the citizens faced worst traffic jam.
Beside the Shahra e Faisal police leadby SP Jamshaid Town Rizwan and SSP Dr Fahad blocked the Shahra e Qaidin and MA Jinnah road from Numaish area the with the help of 20 water tankers and a water cannon cordoned off the Idara e nor e Haq on the information that a huge rally was coming from there led by Hafiz Naeem.
During the whole time the police personals and the worker of JI kept fighting with police charging them with batons and the workers kept on throwing stones at the police. This situation made traffic fluency worst on the main roads of metropolis.
This all started around 6 PM in the evening and eased after around 3 hours when the police released Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman who lately made a press conference where the police officials claimed that they were striving for the implementation on section 144.
