KARACHI: A sessions court granted bail to two Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers and other protestors in a case of rioting at the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) office.
Additional district and sessions judge approved bail for two provincial lawmakers – Samar Ali Khan and Dr Seema Zia – and three other protestors – Adiba Aslam, Khalid and Ahmed Khan – against a surety of Rs10,000.
Darakshan police had registered an FIR against PTI leader Dr Arif Alvi, three legislators – Samar Ali Khan, Khurram Sherzaman, Dr Seema Zia – and other protestors on a complaint of a CBC official.
The PTI leaders along with residents of Clifton and Defence had held a protest at the CBC office on April 07 against the imposition of a tax on water supply through tankers and demanded water to be supplied through the pipelines.
However, the FIR alleged that the PTI leaders forced their entry into the CBC office and damaged its property.
