KARACHI: Investigation into the Regent Plaza hotel fire is underway and according to police, terrorism cannot be ruled out as the reason behind the hotel fire which took lives of 12 and injured 110 people.
According to police, the final report will be prepared in the light of evidence collected and the report will also be shared with the media.
Police further said that, there was no proper fire safety plan at the hotel. Neither did the fire alarms work nor there was any safe fire exit. Therefore any negligence cannot be ruled out during investigation, police said.
It is pertinent to mention that the fire broke out at 3 AM in the kitchen and travelled through the air conditioning ducts. Fire fighters were able to control the fire after four hours with the help of three fire tenders.
PIA crew members, cricketers and foreigners were among the injured.
