FAISALABAD: Eight people were killed and 44 others sustained injuries in two separate accidents on Monday.
According to police, a bus (FSR-8280) was on its way to Faislabad from Multan when it overturned due to high speed near Chak No.477-GB. As a result six people including Muhammad Arshad, Akram Saeed, Umar Farooq and Amjad died on the spot while 36 others including Asghar, Aslam, Fayyaz, Hassan and Usman received injuries. The injured were rushed to a tehsil headquarter (THQ) hospital situated in Sammundri and 13 seriously injured were referred to Civil Hospital.
In a second incident, a van headed towards Pakpatan from Jaranwala collided with a mini truck approaching it from the opposite direction near Chak No.425-GB. As a result a woman Nasim Akhtar and a 12 year old child, Kamal Asad died on the spot while eight others including Amanullah, Shamshad, Fatima, Shazia, Pervez and Shahbaz sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to a local hospital for further treatment.
