ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company(IESCO) apprehended 41 more electricity thieves in various regions of the metropolis in raids conducted during its on-going drive against powerpilferers.
The IESCO spokesman on Tuesday said that 18 culpritswere caught red handed from Chakwal, 10 from Attock, six fromIslamabad, four from Chakwal and three from Rawalpindi and three from Jhelum area.
He said the drive was launched upon the instructions of the CEO Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan and that all the culprits were found involved in power theft throughdirect lines (Kunda System) and by breaking security strip of the meter, he announced.
The spokesman said FIRs had also been registered against the power thieves underthe new electricity (Amendment) Act.
