PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif steps down, Pakistan Army would be strengthened by it on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference regarding health reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Imran said that in democracies around the world, governance was backed with moral authority but in Pakistan to protect the government the rain of falsehood is being occurred. The PTI chief said that democratic governments were concerned with future times.
During his press conference, Imran lashed out at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, claiming that India was dreading the fact that the Pakistani premier may have to resign in the coming days. “Indians are worrying that their ‘friend’ Nawaz Sharif may have to go,” he said. He said if Nawaz Sharif quits it will strengthen Pakistan army and economy of the country and India did not want to see happening this.
Imran said that if Nawaz Sharif were to go, it would strengthen Pakistan Army. He also spoke highly of his party’s governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“We have enhanced the health budget in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Rs 18 billion to Rs 65 billion,” he said. “The health cards are our biggest achievement in the province.”
The PTI chairman made it a point to highlight that as many as 2.4 million families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been provided with the health card.
Imran said that 95 percent of the district hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had expert doctors. He said that district hospitals will be run on solar energy and that PTI was trying to improve the health system in the province.
“We are trying to support change that is visible,” he said. “Doctors are the highest paid in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Imran said that it was a very uphill task to improve the old system of hospitals prevalent in the country. Imran said that when the provincial government tried to introduce reforms, stay orders would be obtained against it.
He argued that the system of reward and punishment always succeeds, adding that it the only system that values talent. “I have never passed orders in Shaukat Khanum Hospital,” he affirmed.
PTI Chief discouraged appointment of teachers on the orders of politicians saying teachers used to be hired on the directions of the MNAs in past. “Any illiterate could be hired as a teacher in that time,” he stated.
In addition, he said those people should be hanged who misuse their powers and affect the future of students. Imran Khan stated, “Education budget of a university in Singapore in greater than the whole education budget in Pakistan.”
He claimed that English medium system was established by the colonial powers in this region and highlighted the need to have an education system based on equality amongst all.
Moreover, Imran suggested Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to adopt the ‘progressive’ system of the Australian Cricket Board.
Imran said that any government can rule on the basis of the ethics in democratic system but present government has lost the moral ground after telling lies not continuously.
“The prime ministers tender resignation on telling lies across the world as after losing moral ground no way except step down,” PTI Chairman said. Replying a question, Imran said he could only say about Maulana Fazlur Rehman that Nawaz Sharif extend money we are with you. He underlined that in Pakistan political parties work for keeping eyes on next election as they don’t have people welfare in their agenda.
“It was hell to change old habits but after sincere efforts 95 per cent doctors are available in government hospital now. We are moving rapidly to bring change in hospitals and will soon a big change can be seen,” Imran claimed adding that in last 40 years first time health reforms being made.
