RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor has said on Tuesday that India is strategically disturbing peace along the border.
While addressing a press conference in General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, he said that war was not a solution to any issue and that Pakistan is eager to find a peaceful solution of outstanding issues.
However, he said that if Pakistan is provoked with constant attacks, the aggression would be effectively retaliated. “A befitting response will be given if war is imposed. Our peaceful approach should not be taken as a weakness”, warned DG ISPR.
He affirmed that the Pakistan Army is fully capable of responding to aggression of any sort. “Pakistan is neither involved in spreading terrorism in Afghanistan nor will it allow its land to be used as a proxy against any other country,” he said.
He made it clear that war is not the ultimate solution to any issue including the Kashmir conflict. Major General Asir Ghafoor claimed that ‘surgical strike’ drama was carried out to obscure attention from the freedom riots in Indian occupied Kashmir.
“46 Pakistanis were martyred by unprovoked cross-border firing while 40 Indian were killed in response”, said DG ISPR.
While talking about putting Jamaatud Dawa (JUD) Chief Hafiz Saeed under house arrest, Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the action has been taken under state policy as the military and intelligence agencies work collectively for the state.
