LAHORE: Different lawyers’ organisations have condemned the house arrest of Hafiz Saeed among five leaders of Jamaat ud Dawa (JuD) and termed it unconstitutional, illegal and a violation of basic human rights. They demanded immediate release of Hafiz Saeed and others.
“Hafiz Saeed was supporting freedom movement of Kashmiris, while Falah e Insaniat Foundation (FIF) has done great work in disasters,” they said.
Leaders of different lawyers’ organisations expressed these views while talking to media; lawyers took protest against the detention of Hafiz Saeed at the end of press conference. They shouted chants against the government and in favour of Hafiz Saeed.
President Lahore High Court Bar Rana Zia Abdul Rehman said that Hafiz Saeed’s detention was due to external pressure and made an excuse that he is taken into custody for his own safety. The government’s order is unconstitutional and illegal. Lahore High Court Bar and lawyers’ community strongly condemned the detention of Hafiz Saeed.
He termed the detention as cowardice of the government and said that the government has taken the step in pressure of India. “JuD is working for services of humanity and has continued its struggle for liberation of Kashmir,” he said.
Secretary Lahore High Court Bar Ans Ghazi said Hafiz Saeed raised voice against India’s atrocities. JuD supported Kashmiris and did humanitarian work in Pakistan. Islam and Pakistan enmity governments and states are afraid from him. Hafiz Saeed raised moral voice for help of oppressed Muslims.
Lahore Tax Bar President Farhan Shahzad said that anyone cannot be detained by reference of protective custody. Lahore Tax Bar condemns the detention of Ameer JuD and demands the immediate release of Hafiz Saeed.
Leader of Al-Ummah Lawyers Forum Rao Tahir Shakeel Advocate demanded government to not take steps against Pakistani Citizens in pressure. Conspiracies of enemy were failed in Balochistan, due to relief work of JuD. lawyers will not tolerate illegal action in Pakistan.
