KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the federal government is not adopting a clear strategy on water crisis created by India in Pakistan.
In a statement, Mustafa Kamal said that the longstanding water issue with India was of great importance for the people of Pakistan. “Taking advantage of the weaker policy of Islamabad on the Indus Water Treaty, India is constructing more dams and putting all resources in use to create water crisis in Pakistan”, he added.
While commenting on the present report issued by the United Nations, he said that Pakistan should study the supply from cross-border rivers, and should present a strong case in front of the Indus Water Commission and the United Nations to highlight India’s aggression. “If Pakistan fails to present its case in the right manner then India will continue with its water aggression, which will result in further decrease of water in rivers,” Kamal noted.
He demanded the government to take this long-delayed matter seriously, as further delay in this regard would only make the condition worse.
