KARACHI: In the wake of Lahore blast on Monday evening, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja directed police officials to remain on high alert in the province.
According to a statement issued by police spokesperson, the IGP directed that strict snap-checking, patrolling and picketing system should be ensured in the whole province in order to maintain law and order, and ensuring the safety of the people and their property.
He also ordered his sub-ordinates to enhance security of government and non-government buildings and sensitive places. “Security of mosques, imambargahs, shopping centres and other crowded-public places should be made enhanced,” the IGO ordered.
“All SSPs should bound DSPs who should bound their sub-ordinate SHOs for the implementation of the security plan.” He also conveyed a message for the people to report any suspicious activity when they see or observe. The citizens can register their complaints regarding any suspected person, bike or another thing on police Help Line 15 or at nearest police station.
At least 10 people were killed and others were injured in the blast on Mall Road close to the Punjab Assembly in Lahore on Monday.
