LAHORE: Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed Punjab environment secretary to submit explanation about non-implementation of an order for regularisation of the department’s employees.
The court directed the secretary to submit his explanation until April 5.
The court issued the directives on a contempt of court petition moved by advocate Shazia Pervez and others against the environment secretary for allegedly defying the court’s order.
Counsel for petitioners Sheraz Zaka submitted that through the corroboration of the documents, the project – in which the petitioners were inducted – was converted from development to non-development side, which meant the employees were supposed to be regularised but it was not done. He submitted that a petition was moved before the LHC and the court had directed the secretary to regularise employees.
