ISLAMABAD: Water scarcity has hit the Federal Capital hard, and is taking its toll on the residents.
Residents of “G” and “I” sectors are the worst hit. Mostly the low income people live in these areas.
Suleman, a resident of sector G 8 markaz who is running a barber shop, told media that the number of his customers had gone fairly down due to water shortage as he has to refuse those customers coming for a shower.
Another resident of the same area residing in one of the flats said for last three days they are living without water. He said he once ordered a water tanker but it demanded Rs 2,000/ for one tanker, which he could not afford.
Residents have questioned the ability of the civic body to handle this crisis efficiently. People have also voiced concerns over reports that water supply to people living in the posh areas continues uninterrupted.
