GUJRANWALA: A man hanged his wife over honour at Gulshan Colony.
Faisal doubted that his wife Saba had established illicit relations with another man. They exchanged harsh words and the enrage husband hanged her with a copper wire and fled from the scene.
Meanwhile, a man died and another four injured in separate road accidents. Asad, 27, was going on a motorcycle when a speeding dumper crushed him to death near Daska. In another incident a passenger van collided with a tree. Driver Usama and passengers Iqbal, Akbar and Azra sustained injuries and were rushed to DHQ Hospital.
Separately, Civil Lines police claimed to have busted two dacoit gangs and recovered cash, stolen vehicles and other valuables.
Talking to media, Operations Wing Senior Superintendent of Police Nadeem Khokhar said Jaji and Gero gangs were involved in several robberies.
Civil Lines Station House Officer Ansar Javed Mohal and his team raided different places and arrested Ejaz alias Jaji, Akram, Amjad, Zubair alias Gero, Amir Hamza, Abdul Manan and Rashid and seized Rs 300,000 in cash, five motorcycles, seven cellular phones, seven pistols and other valuables from them.
