ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the first chapter of Chinese grand vision of One Belt and One Road.
He was addressing a ceremony regarding One Belt and One Road here on Thursday. He said that work on 19 projects of CPEC has been initiated at a cost of 18.5 billion dollars and most of them would be completed by next year.
He said that international standard state-of-the-art technology is being utilized in all CPEC projects. The Chinese envoy said that 60,000 Pakistanis had received direct employment opportunities through CPEC. He said that Pakistani youth were also being sent to China for training.
The Chairman Parliamentary Committee on CPEC Mushahid Hussain Syed said that this mega project will help bring various countries and cultures together.
