ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties on Thursday demanded the government make public the details of ‘deal’ reached between civilian and military establishments on the issues of Dawn Leaks.
Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said Dawn Leaks had never been a personal issue between government and the army but it was a matter of national security. Therefore, the nation should be told how the issue was settled, he said.
“Dawn Leaks was the matter of national security … it was never the issue of army and government. Now nation must be told what were the hindrances in the way of its resolution and how it was settled,” Khursheed said while talking to reporters in Parliament House on Thursday. “Neighbouring countries, particularly India, wants to make Pakistan Army controversial and Nawaz Sharif is also weakening the institutions. He prefers his personal interests to national interests by weakening the institutions,” he said. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek e-Insaf (PTI) has filed an adjournment motion in the National Assembly over Dawn leaks issue, demanding the government to make public the details of the inquiry report.
