SRINAGAR: All parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani has condemned the shifting of ailing Dukhtarane Millat chairperson Aasiya Andrabi to Amphala Jail, Jammu saying that “PDP and Jan Sangh led regime has virtually turned state into a battle field.”
“Aasiya is suffering from multiple ailments and is critically ill and shifting her to Amphala would turn detrimental to her ailing health conditions” Geelani in a statement said.
Terming the use of pellets against protesting students as ‘unjustified’, he said “Instead of considering the reason and root cause of unrest among students, the use of brute force would further escalate the appalling situations.”
Stressing for immediate release of all incarcerated students, Geelani demanded stringent action against the ‘erring’ forces personnel who raided college in Pulwama and other educational institutions.
Ridiculing Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement that ‘India won’t talk to resistance leadership’ Geelani said “We have never begged for talks before India nor are we looking for bilateral talks. We will never hold talks with those following fascist dogma. New Delhi’s refusal to talk makes no difference. Kashmir is disputed territory and its disputed status cannot be changed by the statements of Indian leader like Arun Jaitly or Modi. Despite its military might and luring some henchmen, Indian leadership could not change the discourse of Kashmir issue.”
