ISLAMABAD: The joint investigation team (JIT) headed by Federal Investigation Agency’s Additional Director-General Wajid Zia has taken notice of Hussain Nawaz’s leaked picture while he was sitting at the Federal Judicial Academy.
Wajid Zia is personally conducting the inquiry, with first of all reviewing if the picture was real or not.
The picture carries the time of 11:37am, May 28, and the officials present on duty on the day are being questioned.
Musadiq Malik, Prime Minister House spokesperson, has accused the JIT of having the proceedings recorded illegally. “The premier’s family and the counsels are cooperating with the top court as well as the JIT for a fair probe,” he added.
Interior ministry, meanwhile, has rejected as baseless and ridiculous the allegation by a political party that the ministry was responsible for leakage of photo.
Spokesman of the ministry said, “The Interior Ministry and Islamabad Police have no jurisdiction over the administrative matters of the Federal Judicial Academy. No department of the Ministry has access to Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) offices, activity or any kind of photography or recording,” it said, and added, “Islamabad Police is responsible only for the external security of the Academy. It is not reasonable to politicise such a sensitive issue.”
The JIT is likely to submit its report in the apex court today after reviewing the documents submitted by premier’s sons Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz.
