Renowned columnist and rights activist Gul Bukhari was reportedly abducted when she was on her way to a private television channel’s office to record a show on Tuesday.
According to details, Bukhari, who was commuting in a car with her official chauffer behind the wheel, was blindfolded and bundled into another vehicle after being intercepted by six to four double cabins.
There was no information on Bukhari till the filing of the news item.
Following the harrowing incident, journalist community urged caretaker Prime Minister Justice (r) Nasirul Mulk to act fast and restore the writ of the state. They requested the media houses and organisations, including APNS, CPNE, PBA, PFUJs, to raise their voice and observe a complete shutdown against growing threats to the media.
