LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing’s Staff sealed 11 wedding venues, including five marquees and six marriage halls, in Gulberg on Tuesday.
These marquees were in contravention of building by-laws. The minimum land required for setting up a marquee was eight kanals whereas at least four kanals land was necessary for constructing a marriage hall, with two kanals of land to be left vacant for parking vehicles.
None of these marriage halls had fulfilled these conditions. The owners had illegally set up these ventures after getting approved plans for constructing residences or office buildings at site.
The sealed marquees included 31/K Gourment Marquee, 91/B Meezan Marquee, 14/A Gourment Marquee, 41/B-2 Gourment Marquee and 60/C-2 Gourment Park Lane while the marriage halls included Qasar-e-Noor, Kooh-e-Noor, Qasar-e-Zoq, Chandani Hall and Zafar Banquet Hall.
