ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday directed the concerned officials to immediately resolve visa issues of Afghan citizens in Pakistan.
The interior minister took notice of difficulties being faced by Afghan citizens in Pakistan due to closure of Pak-Afghan border.
A statement issued here said as per the interior minister’s direction, regional passport office Peshawar had been authorized to extend visas of Afghan citizens.
The basic purpose of this initiative is to resolve their problems and facilitate those who have come to Pakistan legally.
The Pak-Afghan border was closed for an indefinite period shortly after a deadly blast at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif.
Taking notice of the problems being faced by Afghan nationals due to closure of Pak-Afghan border, he asked the authorities concerned to resolve visa issues of the Afghan citizens.
