RAWALPINDI: Reiterating that there were no miscreants along the Pakistani side of the Line of Control, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said that the Indian propaganda was aimed at spreading unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in which the Indians would never succeed.
He said this during his visit to the LoC in Kel Sector and forward post at Sharda, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
Murree General Officer Commanding Major General Azhar Abbas briefed the army chief on the situation along the LoC and ceasefire violations by India in recent months. The COAS was also informed about the army’s support to the ongoing housing and population census.
According to the ISPR, the COAS appreciated the state of operational preparedness and response to the ceasefire violations. He said that the people of Azad Kashmir were fully aware of Indian atrocities in Held Kashmir (IHK) and Indian agendas. He said that the Pakistan Army would continue to ensure protection and security of the people along the LoC. He also directed the authorities concerned to ensure progress and development works in the area in coordination with the AJK government. Earlier, upon his arrival, the COAS was received by Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza.
