LAHORE: The Punjab AIDS Control Programme is providing free hepatitis ‘B’ and ‘C’ screening, and hepatitis ‘B’ vaccination to staff and students of Danish schools, said Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Additional Secretary (Admin) Dr Adnan Zafar on Friday.
He said that the campaign will be completed by the end of this month.
“On a request from the Danish School Authority, we have started a comprehensive screening, testing and vaccination campaign for staff and student of Danish schools from the second week of February,” he said.
He added more than 8,000 children and around 2,300 staff members are being offered the free services. “The service is also being provided to high-risk groups like truck and bus drivers, people of transgender community as well as vulnerable and marginalised groups.”
