LAHORE: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his brother Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif’s eligibility has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday.
Mehmood Akhter Naqwi, a citizen, has filed an application in LHC, saying that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif were defaulters of National Bank of Pakistan in 2013 and according to constitution defaulters cannot contest elections.
In his application, the applicant said that the PM and CM did not fulfil the requirements under article 62 and 63 of the constitution, so both brothers should be banned for next election of 2018.
