ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders called on Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in PM’s House to discuss ways and means for strengthening party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). According to sources, Nawaz directed party leaders to organise and strengthen the party in KP before 2018 general elections.
He also directed them to go to the people and ask them about their problems. KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Saad Rafique, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Senator Najma Hameed, Peer Sabir Shah, Engineer Amir Muqam, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Maryam Safdar, Safdar Awan, Jaffar Iqbal, Begum Ishrat Ashraf, Siddiqul Farooq, Rehmat Salam Khattak, Mian Rashid Ali Shah and Sher Zaman attended the meeting. Separately, Nawaz appointed Amir Muqam as KP PML-N president and Murtaza Javed Abbasi as general secretary. Nawaz commended the services of former KP PML-N general secretary Rehmat Salam Khattak and former president Sabir Shah and hoped that the new office-bearers will make efforts to strengthen the party in KP. Muqam and Abbasi assured Nawaz and all others party workers that they will play their due role in ensuring formation of PML-N government in KP.
