TAXILA: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan asserted on Friday that no one should do politics over the court decision in the Panama case.
“No further courts should be held to make comments over the verdict,” the interior minister said in a statement during a press conference.
Some elements had been presenting unusual logics for their political objectives. The judges did express dissent on the decision. However, the judgment is unanimous; therefore, giving an impression of 2-3 is not true.
Nisar stated that the government should respect the judgment of the Supreme Court and implement it in letter and spirit.
He urged that the decision of Supreme Court must be accepted by everyone and there should be no trial of the verdict. The people are giving strange and illogical arguments on the verdict of the apex court instead of accepting the verdict.
“The decision of Supreme Court is still sub judice, as the JIT is being formed for further investigation. The court will give its final verdict on the basis of evidence and not allegations. All the five judges were unanimous about formation of the JIT,” he stated.
The Minister said the opposition has been repeatedly demanding formation of the JIT but now some of them are objecting to it. He expressed surprise that leader of a party with proverbial corruption record should give sermons on corruption.
In response to a question, Ch Nisar Ali Khan expressed the hope that he will get report of the Dawn Leaks on Monday or Tuesday next and it would then be submitted to the Prime Minister.
The Interior Minister said that opposition is scared from the performance of the PML-N led government.
To a question, he said that the government is being targeted from the day first and was blamed of rigging in election, which has not been proved so far.
“Peace in the city has been restored and today’s Karachi is better than that of 2013. The Karachi operation was initiated over the decision of federal government,” he said while addressing the Karachi issue.
Stating that judicial decisions are never taken on the basis of one’s wishes, Chaudhry Nisar said that the case required further investigation.
“The stance of the Prime Minister and his family is that they possessed assets abroad,” said Nisar. “Nawaz Sharif and his family bought some flats in London,” he added.
Nisar said that the decision of the Panama Leaks verdict was taken keeping in mind evidence and not personal wishes. “All five judges were on the same page regarding the formation of the JIT. Everyone will have to accept the decision of the Supreme Court,” he stated.
The interior minister stated that this is a sign of Doomsday that Asif Ali Zardari was giving lectures to the nation on ‘Sadiq’ and ‘Amin’.
Nisar ridiculed Asif Ali Zardari’s criticism on the Prime Minister from and claimed that Zardari lecturing on Article 62, 63 was a spectacle in itself.
“Asif Zardari lecturing others on Article 62, 63 is a sign of the end of times,” he said. “He’s giving a lecture to the nation on the subject of transparency.”
The Interior Minister, however, agreed with PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari that it was premature to distribute sweets at the moment. “I agree with Zardari, now is not the time to distribute sweets. The full judicial decision has yet to be reached,” he said.
