A fire in the Leepa Valley unleashed destruction by destroying over 90 shops, houses and vehicles.
Leepa is located east of Muzaffarabad, the capital city of AJK.
Residents and officials of the area reported that the fire was caused by short-circuited electrical wiring in a shop and destroyed merchandise worth millions of rupees.
According to media reports, the blaze started on Sunday night and engulfed the entire bazaar.
The blaze also gutted down a state-owned food depot where 1,400 tonnes of wheat flour had been stored. In the winter season, residents of the area stockpile food items so that they can last through the season.
Speaking to media, the Leepa valley residents condemned the absence of a proper fire firefighting system in the area.
The situation has been made worse as relief parties could not be sent to the affected area due to bad weather.
