KARACHI: The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) praised the services of National Anthem writer Hafeez Jullundhri and music composer Ahmed Ghulamali Chagla by naming the Dow International Medical College Auditorium in their honour.
The “Abu Alasar Hafeez Jullundhri & Ahmed Ghulamali Chagla Auditorium” was inaugurated by renowned scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan along with Founding Vice Chancellor, DUHS Professor Masood Hameed Khan and other officials at a ceremony held on Friday at DUHS Ojha Campus.
The inauguration was followed by a Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation Ceremony to Abdul Haseeb Khan and Sardar Yasin Malik on the meritorious services rendered for Dow University.
The ceremony was attended by family members of Abu Alasar Hafeez Jullundhri and Ahmed Ghulamali Chagla besides senior faculty members of the University.
Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan speaking as the chief guest, informed the audience about his past memories.
Furthermore, he said that education is the key to success. Each student should get the best education possible because these students will contribute in the progress of the country.
He further said that Pakistan needs honesty, discipline and hard work at every level for rapid progress and prosperity. Collective hard work is the key to open the doors of progress and development. He said that he is pleased to see that Dow University is flourishing day by day.
He appreciated the efforts of Professor Masood Hameed and his team for bringing up the university on par with international standard.
DUHS Founding Vice Chancellor, Professor Masood Hameed Khan, in his welcome address praised the literary and patriotic services by Hafeez Jullundhri & Ahmed Ghulamali Chagla. Furthermore, he also appreciated the meritorious services rendered by Abdul Haseeb Khan and Sardar Yasin Malik for the progress of Dow University.
Later, he briefly mentioned the new established development and accomplishments of Dow University during last 13 years including Liver Transplant Program.
