LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) took the Model Town incident’s case to Lahore High Court (LHC).
The party submitted an application asking the court to suspend 126 officials in Punjab, including the Punjab Inspector General (IG). It stated that for transparent inquiry, these alleged officials must be stopped from working.
It also mentioned that those involved in the killings have been rewarded instead of receiving punishment by the government.
The applicant suggested that police officials, named as suspects, should be stopped from working while action should be taken against them.
Earlier, anti-terrorism court declared that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif were innocent in the Model Town tragedy in which violent clashes occurred between Punjab police and PAT workers.
The tragic incident claimed lives of several workers.
