KARACHI: The US dollar remained flat against the domestic unit in interbank market trade because of less than normal demand by importers and meager imports bills, said treasurers.
The greenback closed at Rs 104.50 for buying and Rs 104.70 for selling, with no change.
The rupee remained firm because of the low demand of dollar by the corporate sector for its import payments. Banks were trying to meet their demands, which kept the value of the rupee positive.
The euro closed at Rs 113.27 for buying and Rs 113.47 for selling, gaining 48 paisas.
The pound sterling closed at Rs 130.81 for buying and Rs 131.01 for selling. It increased by 45 paisas.
Kerb market: The dollar closed firm in the open currency market, said foreign exchange dealers.
The US dollar closed at Rs 106.62 for buying and Rs 106.82 for selling, gaining 02 paisas from previous session’s level. Earlier in the day it was trading at Rs 106.60 for buying and Rs 106.81 for selling.
The pound sterling closed at Rs 132.65 for buying and Rs 132.85 for selling, with 25 paisas change from previous session’s level. It was trading at Rs 132.64 for buying and Rs 132.86 for selling.
The euro closed at Rs 114.65 for buying and Rs 114.85 for selling. It gained by 27 paisas.
