HYDERABAD: Residents of Tando Agha, Kali Mori and Rishi Ghat held a protest in Hyderabad against notices issued by the Irrigation department for the demolition of their homes.
The protest was led by Chairman of the union council, Mir Balach Talpur,Anwar Lodhi and Shafi Lodhi. They told media that they had lived in their homes for over 70 years, and now the irrigation department issued notices to vacate the area or their homes.
They stated that their plots and homes were registered with HMC yeat DC and irrigation engineers want to render them homeless. They asserted that PPP was supposed to be ruling under the slogan of Roti, Kapra and Makan. The government has never provided homes to the poor but whatever homes the poor working class have made out of their savings, the PPP government wants to demolish.
Mir Baloch Talpur said people had been living in Tando Agha and Kali Mori for centuries. Heappealed to the chief justice to take notice of situation and save thousands of people from becoming homeless.
