ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army on Tuesday informed India about the movement of civil and military enumerators near the Line of Control (LoC) as part of the ongoing census, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
Indian officials were asked to inform their ground troops about the movement of census staff in areas close to the LoC.
The military’s media wing added that the step was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of civil and military personnel following incidents of “unprovoked targeting and persistent ceasefire violations by the Indian Army”.
A census team comprising civil and army personnel visited Army House, Rawalpindi for “registration of necessary data”, the ISPR said.
