ISLAMABAD: The Stability of Pakistan Conferenceon Wednesday condemnedthe defamation campaign on social media against security institutes of the country and urged the Interior Ministry to take stern action against them.
The Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) organised the conference andurged the government to make public the recommendations of the Dawn Leaks investigative committee.
During the conference, the PUC also demanded that Nawaz Sharif callan All Parties Conference on the prevailing challenges to the country.
“Political and religious leadership should pursue a democratic attitude and foil conspiracies of the enemies of Pakistan with unity.”
The council also announced to observe May 5th as the stability of Pakistan day and demanded that the government and security agencies expose the ‘nefarious’ designs of the Indian and Afghan security agencies against Pakistan.
PUC Chairman Tahir Ashrafi presided over the conference and a joint declaration was also presented with the consent of the participants, which urged the political and religious organisations to demonstrate patience on the Panama Leaks issue and wait for the court’s verdict.
The conference condemned conspiracies of Indian and Afghan security agencies against Pakistan. It also endorsed Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad for the eradication of terrorism and extremism from Pakistan.
PUC urged religious and political organisations to educate peopleaboutterrorism and extremism. The Stability of Pakistan Conference also made it clear that elements responsible for fanning extremism and sectarian violence are not representative of the Muslim world. The conference also welcomed Pakistan’s inclusion in Islamic Military Alliance and termed theappointment of General (r) Raheel Sharif as head of the Islamic Military Alliance as a proud moment for Pakistanis. Speaking on the occasion,PUC Vice Chairman Ayub Safdar said that any campaign on social media against security institutes of Pakistan will not be tolerated.
Abdul Qadri Sikandari stated that the religious leadership of Pakistan fully endorsed Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad to eliminate elements fanning sectarian violence. Sharif Hazarvi of JUI-F said that the people of Pakistan should demonstrate unity to contain the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam.
PUC Secretary General Abdul Hameed Wattoo believed that the military leadership played a key role to strengthen democracy in Pakistan adding that Nawaz Sharif should play a decisive role to contain Dawn Leaks issue.
Ghulam Ullah Khan of Jamiat Ahle Hadith said that political and religious leadership should demonstrate patience amidst the ongoing scenario in the country.
Sajjid Naqvi of Tehreek Ittehad Islami said that endeavours on the part of PUC for the stability of Pakistan are praiseworthy. Ayub Safdar, Idrees Qasmi, Tahir Aqeel, Abdul Hameed Sabri, Nauman Hashir, Mumtaz Rabbani, Abu Bakar Hamza, Abdul Qayyum and Aslam Qadri also addressed the conference.
