THARPARKAR: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has fired 25 doctors including 5 lady doctors after expiration of their contracts while contracts of 31 doctors were extended for the next two years.
Doctors who were fired, talking to the local journalists lamented that they were dismissed from their services despite the fact that they were performing their duties regularly at their respective health units.
The sacked doctors deplored that they left their lucrative jobs in Karachi and Hyderabad and chosen to serve in the desert region when there was a crisis and children were dying in the hundreds some two years back.
They said that they were persuaded first by Syed Qaim Ali Shah the then incumbent chief minister and other health authorities to perform their duties in harsh conditions. They said they were fired without any justification at a time when the situations were still worsening and children are still dying in Thar. They stated that with the termination of five lady doctors there would be no lady doctor in Islamkot Taluka Hospital.
Doctors also staged a protest demonstration before District Chairman of Zila Council Tharparkar during the District Council meeting at Cultural Complex Mithi.
